SBC Recycling, headquartered in Centerburg, OH, has entered into a collaborative recycling agreement with MRC Polymers of Romeoville, IL. SBC Recycling will utilize MRC Polymer’s new Romeoville, Illinois facility as a local collection center for plastic and paper goods serving the greater Chicago area. May 15th, 2014 – Romeoville, IL - MRC Polymers, Romeoville, IL has developed and added a new line of unfilled polypropylene products to its already robust line of recycled compounds. This new product line includes nine grades of recycled homopolymer and copolymer polypropylenes available in a variety of property ranges for impact, melt flow and stiffness. The majority of the product line comes in black, but limited quantities of colorable are available. The products can also be customer compounded to meet specific application needs...
Downers Grove, IL - 10 July 2013 When MRC Polymers employees were greeted by 60 smiling faces wearing t-shirts with “RECYCLE” across them, they knew they were in the right place. On June 19th, Chicago recycler MRC Polymers celebrated their 5 year partners with Spectrum Vocational Training Agency, part of Little Friends Inc. The two firms established an economical partnership that helps MRC recycle land-fill bound plastic while providing meaningful work for adults with developmental disabilities.

Recently, the Chicago-based recycler partnered with the Department of Industrial and Enterprise Systems Engineering (ISE), University of Illinois–Champaign Urbana, to support the Senior Engineering Project Program. The challenge to produce an "Energy Audit for Plastic Recycling and Pellet Extrusion" was proposed by MRC as a real-world, problem-solving experience.
Chicago, IL – 31 May 2011 – MRC Polymers, Inc. announces Recycled Content Certification for five categories of post-consumer polymer products. The MRC trade names are Naxaloy, Naxell, Maxtel, Staran and Emarex. All conform to the SCS Recycled Content Standard V-1.
Certified recycled materials are used in "green building" applications. The rise of green building has led to the development of LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, an internationally-recognized green building certification process by the U.S. Green Building Council. LEED promotes sustainable building and development practices through a suite of rating systems that recognize projects that implement strategies for better environmental and health performance, including designs utilizing certified recycled materials.
Chicago, IL – 17 January 2011 – MRC Polymers, Inc. was recently honored with a Recycling Hall of Fame award from Keep Chicago Beautiful, the environmental conservation organization working with the City of Chicago and local communities to promote recycling education and practices.
Chicago, IL – August 5, 2010 – "Beyond expectations" was an enthusiastic comment from graduate students from Israel's Arava Institute of Environmental Studies as they recently walked the factory floor at MRC Polymers, Inc. in Chicago. Their summer internships are hosted by "Keep Chicago Beautiful," which has taught the "Chicago Model" sustainability program as part of the "Waste In Place" curriculum to thousands of teachers nationwide for 20 years.
Chicago, IL – May, 2010 – MRC Polymers, Inc. recently introduced Naxaloy 770NHFR, an engineering grade PC/ABS alloy with 50% verifiable recycle content. This addition to their PC/ABS product assortment has a non-halogenated, flame-retardant V-0 rating and is UL approved. The resin pellets are available in all colors.
Despite the economic downturn of 2009, MRC found a way to partner with a vocational training agency to provide ongoing work for adults with developmental disabilities.
Delphi cites use of 100% recycled material from MRC Polymers as the grand prize winner of the Society of Plastics Engineers' Automotive Innovation Awards for customer General Motors Corp.
